As long as we are still available we would love to be your photographer! We typically book 6-18 months out on Saturdays. June-Sept is our busiest season which books up the quickest.
We recommend booking as soon as you know your date, location, and are comfortable with our photography process!
Absolutely! We have put together these packages and pricing because we know they work for most people, but they might not work best for you. Let us know what you want and we would love to send you a formal proposal!
We say 90 days but often get your photos edited and to you before that. We do give sneak peaks as we are editing so you know we haven't forgot about you!
Much of your wedding photographer's job begins after your wedding.
When it comes to wedding photography, choosing the right company is important. It's a pivotal element that couples rely on to capture the essence and memories of their special day. Reflecting on feedback and stories shared by couples, here are common regrets people have about their wedding photographer, here are 10 areas we at Apogee seek to avoid at all costs.
1. Not Researching Enough
Many couples regret not spending more time researching different photographers to find the best fit for their style and vision. Settling for the first option or choosing based on price alone can lead to disappointment with the final photos. Make sure you see plenty of photos you like.
2. Prioritizing Cost Over Quality
Photography can be wildly hard to pin down an average price point when researching for your wedding. While budget constraints are understandable, many couples regret prioritizing cost savings over the quality and experience of the photographer. Remember, after the wedding day has passed, the photos are what remain.
3. Lack of Communication
Some couples regret not communicating their expectations and specific requests clearly with their photographer. This can lead to missing out on important shots or styles of photography that the couple desired. If they don't email you back, that is a problem!
4. Not Allocating Enough Time for Photography
Underestimating the amount of time needed for photography, especially for formal portraits and group shots, can result in a rushed photo session and missed photo opportunities. Couples often wish they had planned the day's timeline with more buffer for photography. We would love to work with you on your timeline to make sure you get all of the photos you want and get to enjoy your day without being rushed!
5. Failing to Check the Photographer's Portfolio Thoroughly
Regrets also arise from not thoroughly checking the photographer’s portfolio or not asking to see full wedding albums. This could lead to surprises about the photographer's style not matching the couple’s expectations. If your wedding is indoors, and all you can see is outdoor weddings, it's possible your photographer doesn't have a flash or use a flash inside and your photos will NOT look the same without good lighting.
6. Skipping the Engagement Shoot
Couples who opt out of an engagement shoot sometimes regret missing the opportunity for a "trial run" with their photographer. This session can help build comfort and rapport, which can lead to more natural and relaxed photos on the wedding day. This is a great way to build rapport with your photographer and become friends for your wedding day!
7. Not Specifying Must-Have Shots
Failing to communicate a list of must-have shots or specific moments they want captured can lead to disappointment. It’s important to discuss this with your photographer ahead of time. We don't want to miss a thing for you so it is important we work together before your wedding and get your must have photos!
8. Overlooking the Importance of Personality
Some couples regret choosing a photographer solely based on their work, without considering personality fit. Remember, this person will be with you throughout one of the most important days of your life; ensuring you’re comfortable with them is crucial. We don't hire sticks in the mud at Apogee, we hire for heart.
9. Not Reading the Contract Carefully
Regret can also stem from not understanding the details of the photography contract, leading to unexpected costs or not receiving the services expected. Always read and clarify contract terms before signing. if it is not written down, it's likely not going to be included. The contract will ensure your photographer shows up and does what they are suppose to do. It protects you too, or at least it should.
10. Forgetting to Consider the Guest Experience
Lastly, some couples regret hiring photographers who were too intrusive or disrupted the guest experience such as taking an hour and half for photos will everyone waits at the reception. People typically leave weddings much quicker when this happens and it's disappointing, but nobody like to be bored to death for hours. Don't forget about your guests, we can get great photos and have fun with everyone at the same time. The balance between capturing great photos and maintaining an enjoyable atmosphere for guests is important.
