The Reed Ballroom

The Reed Ballroom sits on the third floor of the Reed Opera House, a downtown Salem landmark with more than 150 years behind it. We're the venue's exclusive photo booth partner, we DJ here, and our own studio is up Liberty Street inside Cellar 54. If you booked this room, this page is your entertainment plan.

How we run this room

The only photo booth in the ballroom

Apogee is The Reed's photo booth partner. Five of our seven styles work in this room: Companion, Princess, Queen, Magic Mirror, and 360. Each includes instant text delivery, a custom overlay, and an online gallery. Princess, Queen, Magic Mirror, and 360 are staffed; Companion is self-serve.

Third-floor load-in, already planned

The ballroom is on the third floor of the Reed Opera House. Getting gear up there takes longer than a ground-floor venue, so we build extra time into load-in and arrive early. We already know the room's power, flow, and timing, and your setup is done before guests walk in.

Sound sized for 264 seats

The room seats 264 guests at 33 tables, and brick walls with high ceilings bounce sound. We aim speaker coverage across the full ballroom without overpowering the corner tables, so the toasts land in the back row without blasting the front.

Ceremony flips to reception during cocktail hour

For weddings, ceremony audio runs at one end of the ballroom, then transitions to the reception configuration during cocktail hour. Your guests don't notice the shift, they just come back to a dance floor.

Book the room first, then us

Reserve the ballroom with The Reed directly, then lock your date with Apogee. Peak Saturdays fill early. One team handling DJ, booth, photo, and film means one contract and one load-in window instead of three. The Reed is downtown Salem, so there's no travel fee.
